Termite Control
Termite inspections and treatment for Tampa Bay homes
Eastern subterranean, Formosan, and West Indian drywood termites damage Tampa homes. Emergency Pest Control inspects, identifies the species, and treats. This is not an ODie pest. Call 813-933-1911.
Termites we see in Tampa Bay
The species tells you whether the colony is in the ground or in the wood. That changes the treatment.
Eastern Subterranean
Ground colonies. Workers about 1/8 inch eat wood daily. Swarmers appear on warm late-winter and spring days. This is the common structural threat.
Formosan Subterranean
Larger colonies than Eastern. Swarm at dusk from April to July. Can need less moisture and sometimes nest above ground.
West Indian Drywood
Also called powderpost termites. Small colonies inside wood. Can arrive in furniture. Fecal pellets look like tiny beads.
Dampwood
Found in rotten stumps, not a typical house infestation. They break down wet wood outdoors.
Swarmers vs ants
Termite swarmers have straight antennae and no pinched waist. Seeing wings indoors is a reason to schedule an inspection.
Fumigation option
Drywood infestations that run through a structure may need fumigation. We inspect first and recommend the right method.
